When it comes to fiction, people do, in fact, judge a book by its cover. Evoking an emotional response to facilitate sales is an essential part of most advertising, and nowhere is that more prevalent than in fiction book covers.
“Blood of the Black Loon” encapsulates a harrowing tale of lust, illuminati, and taboo behavior. The mask was chosen to symbolize the underlining “secret society” theme along with the foe’s deceptive nature, while the splattering of blood incites a visceral reaction and signals impending foul play.
